Fruit Catsup & Healing Salve

Fruit Catsup - Sarah Robinson

For our event, Sarah used chokecherries in this recipe, but you can use any fruit. Simmer, all ingredients for about an hour. Transfer to a blender and blend till smooth. Sieve as necessary. Return to pot and simmer ~30min until or until coats the back of a spoon. Add sugar/salt/vinegar/pepper to taste. Let flavours mingle overnight before use.

Ingredients: 2 cups fruit, 1 tsp. cumin, 2 whole cloves, 2 whole allspice, 1/2 tsp coriander, 1 cup onion, 1/2 cup ginger, 1/2 cup garlic, 1/2 cup vinegar, 1 cup wine, 1 cup water.

All Purpose Healing Salve - AMBER DAWN HOLISTICS

Fill a clean (preferably sanitized) jar (500 ml) with equal parts: Calendula, Plantain, St. John's Wort, Comfrey Leaf

  • Fill the jar again with base oil of your choice (I recommend organic sunflower oil).

  • Infuse for 6 weeks (shake twice daily). Dancing and singing with it might add a little extra magic.

  • Strain out plant matter.

  • In a small pot, add infused oil plus 1 oz of beeswax.

  • Stir consistently until beeswax is melted.

  • Pour into jars.

  • Leave to cool with lids off (it will add condensation to your salve, which will reduce it's shelf life and encourage mold/rancidity.)

  • Put lids on once cooled completely.

  • Use on bites, scrapes, dry rashes, cuts, or even diaper rash!
